How long is the waiting list to join Tamar Gymnastics Club?

  • There is currently no waiting list to join.

How old does someone need to be to join?

  • We accept all ages from 5 years and up.

How much experience is required?

  • No experience is required to join. We will accept absolute beginners to seasoned competitors, all will receive the necessary attention. We DO NOT hold "auditions" or give preferential treatment to anyone. First and foremost Tamar Gymnastics Club believes that gymnastics should be fun, hard work, but fun.

Is there a recognised "Award Scheme"?

  • Yes. Tamar Gymnastics Club participates in the British Gymnastics Proficiency Awards.

Does Tamar Gymnastics Club ever enter competitions?

  • Yes. We hold club competitions, where the gymnasts compete with each other, in a friendly and familiar environment - ideal for getting used to being "judged" without the fear of a strange environment or strangers.

  • We also field squads that compete with other clubs in the region - such as the inaugural Peninsular Trophy Invitational held in Truro on 28th October 2007 - where Tamar Gymnastics Club won a closely fought team silver. Can I stay and watch my child at the Club?

  • For health and safety reasons no parents are allowed in the gym while the class is in progress, however, the Kitto Centre has a seating area with cafe overlooking the gym where you can view the class.

Will my child be safe?

  • There is always at least one first aid qualified coach at the club during classes.

  • All coaches have an "Enhanced Disclosure" C.R.B. check.

Who should I speak to about any queries I may have?

  • Any questions you may have about how your child is getting on at Tamar Gymnastics Club should be raised only with Pat Howard, the club manager.

Can I get more involved with the club?

  • Yes, we actively encourage and welcome assistance from parents with coaching (CRB check essential), judging, fund-raising and helping with putting out and putting away equipment.
