Frequently Asked Questions
How long is the waiting list to join Tamar
Gymnastics Club?
How old does someone need to be to join?
How much experience is required?
-
No experience is required to join. We will
accept absolute beginners to seasoned competitors, all will
receive the necessary attention. We DO NOT hold "auditions" or
give preferential treatment to anyone. First and foremost Tamar
Gymnastics Club believes that gymnastics should be fun, hard
work, but fun.
Is there a recognised "Award Scheme"?
Does Tamar Gymnastics Club ever enter
competitions?
-
Yes. We hold club competitions, where the
gymnasts compete with each other, in a friendly and familiar
environment - ideal for getting used to being "judged" without
the fear of a strange environment or strangers.
-
We also field squads that compete with other
clubs in the region - such as the inaugural
Peninsular Trophy Invitational held in Truro on 28th October
2007 - where Tamar Gymnastics Club won a closely fought team
silver. Find out about upcoming events and competitions on our
diary page. See results and reviews of
past competitions and events on our
previous events pages.
Can I stay and watch my child at the Club?
-
For health and safety reasons no parents are
allowed in the gym while the class is in progress, however, the
Kitto Centre has a seating area with cafe overlooking the gym
where you can view the class.
Will my child be safe?
Who should I speak to about any queries I may
have?
Can I get more involved with the club?
-
Yes, we actively encourage and welcome
assistance from parents with coaching (CRB check essential),
judging, fund-raising and helping with putting out and putting
away equipment.
